ARE YOU READY TO TAKE YOUR FIRST STEP ONTO THE TRAIL OF BEAUTY?

This step will be a step out your front door and into the beauty of spring for something that I call a Beauty Walk. Wrap yourself in warmth and pull on your favorite, comfortable walking shoes. Step through the doorway or stand just inside, wherever you feel safe to stand still for a moment. Close your eyes and breathe. Give thanks for the air entering your lungs, the breath of life. Feel into your body here, bring yourself fully present to this moment. 

When you are ready, slowly open your eyes and let them search the landscape for something that you find beautiful. Walk toward that beauty and when you arrive near it, take it in with your senses. Take time to enjoy the color, the texture, the scent…all of it. Let the beauty fill you up. When you feel saturated with that experience of beauty lift your gaze and look for something else that you find beautiful. Walk toward that beauty and take time with it before being drawn forward by your next beautiful discovery. 

When I have done these beauty walks I have been amazed and delighted by all the beauty that surrounds me in my neighborhood. I have been drawn into new areas, unfamiliar walking paths have emerged, and I have found myself filled up with pleasurable sensation and joy.
